This November 2nd is not a joke. We must be strong and vote our country's freedom to go forward, not into the abyss that the socialists want us to go. Their plans are cursed with a curse.

"We will not go quietly into the night." Pray for America, ask forgiveness and Vote!

The video took forever to download on my pokey dial-up, but it was worth the wait. It says eloquently what I've been trying to say about America...except for the last part...

I don't trust Republicans a whit more than I do Democritters. It's like The Who's "Won't Get Fooled Again": "Meet the new boss, same as the old boss!"

I want real change, and a real revolution, albeit not at the point of a gun. Not to be too partisan--because I don't agree with party lines--but I want Libertarians, or Tea Partiers with similar sentiments, heading the effort to rescue America.

The old-school stuff ain't going to cut it this year.

In Georgia, we have a choice between a recycled Democrat governor (Roy Barnes, who changed our state flag into a Cracker Barrel placemat because of its politically-incorrect Confederate battle flag logo; never forgive him for it...) and former congressman Nathan Deal, a corrupt Republican careerist who gained office in the early '90s exploiting pictures of aborted fetuses during a family-hour Braves game. (He scared hell out of my girls, and he isn't forgiven, either. Old geezers have long memories for affronts.)

It's a hold-yer-nose deal in Jawja, but I'm anticipating an unprecedented turn-out nationwide.

Last chance for romance, kids! No matter what flavor of scoundrel you prefer, get out and vote on 2 November!

Possum,
I agree. If there was a Democrat in NJ that was running to the right of a Republican, I'd probably vote Democrat. But that ain't happenin' here I'll tell ya.

I don't scare easily, but I'll never forget the night our little family group was huddled around the TV, watching a Braves playoff game when they had their championship dynasty in the early '90s. The girls were only teenagers; I left the room on a commercial break to get a beer; Mary went to "the outhouse", shall we say.

There is nothing more blood-curdling than to hear your daughters screaming in abject terror. I thought home invaders and/or my dad's murderers were coming through the front door.

I grabbed a pistol and ran into the room, ready to kill to defend my family. The girls were pointing at the TV and sobbing. Onscreen, there were grisly pictures of aborted fetuses, swimming in blood. It was a political ad, designed to show how "pro-life" Nathan Deal is.

I called Deal's campaign headquarters, wrote letters to Ted Turner and The Atlanta Constipation, and generally raised hell about this outrage.

Deal got elected, and at least opposed ObamaCare. Now he wants to be governor, and considering the alternative, he might pull that off, too. Governorship is considered a stepping-stone to the presidency--remember the Arkansas hillbilly?--but I hope this bastard has too many skeletons in his closet to go that far.

The only decent Democrats who come to mind are Zell Miller--known as "Zig-Zag Zell" when he was governor here--Joe Lieberman, and Pat Cadell. The rest are irrational idiots, and that's putting it mildly and cleanly for purposes of this comment.

Possum,
That's terrible. There is no call for that kind of commercial on network TV during prime-time. Don't get me wrong, I'm against abortion, but some things are just NOT in good taste. I prefer the more low-key type of ads like the one they played during the last Superbowl: Mother refrains from abortion, child becomes athletic superstar.

But all children are precious, even the ones that don't become athletic superstars. My daughter was born with a handicap, but she has never allowed anything to stand in her way. We told her she could do anything she wanted to, and she has more than made us proud. I could go on and on about her achievements, but I won't bore you. Suffice it to say I'm VERY proud of her and her accomplishments.

She came home for the weekend and we watched football together. I thoroughly enjoyed that. Not only does she like football, but we sometimes have movie marathons of Terminator, 007, Aliens, etc. It's great.

She doesn't like war movies (too much like reality), but that's OK. She watches girlie movies with her mother and guy flicks with me. What's not to be happy about?

I, too, am pro-life, without wanting to legislate morality on the issue. If I wanted to convince an adult of the evil of abortion, I might show them a graphic photo to their face, but jumping out of a TV screen during "family hour" is way over the top.

My girls used to watch grisly "R" rated movies, because they were precocious kids. Such fare always got previewed by M. and me, and there would be a discussion afterwards if it was borderline.

The most notable "wait 'til you're eighteen" flick was "Natural Born Killers." (I caught them watching me anxiously during the Nam scenes the first time we viewed "Forrest Gump" together, too.)

I told you I read my friends' blogs! Is this enough commentary to verify that?

Gearing up for another UPI rant on Scorpion Hill...

Possum,
You never have to prove yourself to me. Thanks.
