Roll-Call of Patriots

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Here is a list of real American Patriots! They are so patriotic they couldn't bring themselves to defend the American flag from desecration. Lieberman is the only shocker. I thought he was better than that. Just thinking about this list brings a tear to my eye. Why, it's a veritable "Who's Who" of patriotism.

Akaka (D-HI)Bennett (R-UT)
Biden (D-DE)Bingaman (D-NM)
Boxer (D-CA)Byrd (D-WV)
Cantwell (D-WA)Carper (D-DE)
Chafee (R-RI)Clinton (D-NY)
Conrad (D-ND)Dodd (D-CT)
Dorgan (D-ND)Durbin (D-IL)
Feingold (D-WI)Harkin (D-IA)
Inouye (D-HI)Jeffords (I-VT)
Kennedy (D-MA)Kerry (D-MA)
Kohl (D-WI)Lautenberg (D-NJ)
Leahy (D-VT)Levin (D-MI)
Lieberman (D-CT)McConnell (R-KY)
Mikulski (D-MD)Murray (D-WA)

The disappointing ones are the Republicans, although most of those listed have already "distinguished" themselves as R.I.N.O.s.

As for the Democrats...it's pretty much business as usual.

Mitch McConnell was a shocker for me, along with Lieberman.

I thought better of these two.

I see the honorable and esteemed [**spitspit**] Mr. Levin is on the list. No surprise there. :o(

My favorites are Biden, Boxer, Byrd, Clinton, Durbin, Feingold, Kennedy, Kerry, Lautenberg (I'm from "Joisy"), Leahy, Levin, and Schumer. Many have received the coveted Looney Liberal of the Week Award! (or probably will soon).

(:D) Regards...

I would pay for the lasik surgery for Levin as I am tired of seeing those stupid glasses sitting at the end of his nose!

As goofey as Schumer looks with his at the end of his nose, at least he is not too lazy to remove them occasionally.

Yeah, but what about Feinstein, Reid, Stabenow, et al. Who would have guessed they would vote for it? I spent 26 years in the military defending the right of people I disagree with to express themselves. I am not sure how I would have voted on this matter. And have we had a rash of flag-burning recently? Is writing on the flag with a magic marker (pres Bush) or wearing it desecration? And the flag is burned when it is retired. Maybe something in the language of the resolution was off-putting on genuine grounds.

Ms. Stabinow (Stabemlater) is up for reelection. Just sayin.

RAM,
Goofy-lookin' and goofy-actin'.

Rick,
In my mind, it's the principle of the thing. Votes like this show where people's hearts are. Obviously these losers have less respect for the flag (and what it stands for) than they do for the right to desecrate that flag (and what it stands for).

Marge,
Stabinow... Stabemlater? Funny (:D)

West Coast Liberal showed up at my last thread. I wonder why (he?) didn't bother with this one? Guess he just couldn't think of anything dumb to say. Ya suppose?

Libby Gone™,
Thanks for the kind words.

Maggie,
One issue does not define a person, but it does make you wonder doesn't it?

Maggie: I have to agree with Hawkeye that one issue does not define a person, but I would have thought he would take our side on this issue!

I think McConnell looks like the 60's actor, Edward Andrews. If you don't know who he is, this is him at this link: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0028647/

While there is no picture of him there, you may scroll down through his credits and see if you remember him from one of his roles.

I don't think he ever had a starring role, usually that of supporting actor. He did a lot of work on TV in the early to mid 60's and even into the 70's.

The one that sticks in my mind the most is from 1964, a Twilight Zone called "You Drive" where he is haunted by his car after hitting a newsboy and running away from the scene.
