Looney Liberal of the Week: Hillary Clinton

BUFFALO, NY -- For the second time in as many months, this week's award goes to Hillary Clinton for comments she made on Wednesday at the Democratic state convention in Buffalo, where her Senate re-election candidacy received the party's nomination.

"Stand with me as we push the Bush administration to take responsibility for the mistakes and misjudgments that they have made around the world," she said. "And stand with me as we put pressure on both the administration and the new Iraqi government to get behind a real plan for the Iraqis to assume a growing responsibility for their own security and safety, so that we can begin to bring our troops home."

OK, so let's get this straight. The voters of New York are supposed to elect Hillary Clinton as their Senator, so that they can stand with her in Bush-bashing? New Yorkers are supposed to elect Hillary so that they can put pressure on the new Iraqi government? Is that really what they want from a Senator? She apparently had lots to say about national politics, but almost nothing to say about state issues. Hillary is already running her 2008 campaign, and if Hillary gets elected, the people of New York will be ignored for the next two years.

In related news, Clinton aides suggest that Hillary will tap John Kerry to assist in the development of "a real plan" for Iraq.

That's satire right. Or is it business as usual in the land of petrified politics?

See, Hillary is running for a NATIONAL office, the U.S. Senate. As such, she should deal with national issues. Consequently, she is perfectly justified in spouting national policy. If New Yorkers want their priorities to be considered, they do that in the STATE Senate race.

Having said that, clearly Hillary thinks she can win the next Presidential election, with or without the help of war heroes like John Kerry and Murtha.

Democrats have no platform or common set of goals and beliefs, except the one Hillary is appealing to: Bash Bush.
That's their only message and their only goal...

Mig,
"Petrified Politics"... I LOVE it! Pretty much lifeless, eh?

Pat'sRick©,
I agree in general, but STATE senators can't get anything for their states without the help of their U.S. Senators. Unfortunately, I live in New Jersey which ranks 50th out of 50 in terms of return on the federal tax dollar... (See HERE). Even NY does better! But if elected, Hillary won't be worried about that kinda stuff for the next 2 years.

Beerme,
Correctomundo!

OLA,
I know that I can't stand her! Go DU! Go KosKids! Load up those torpedos... the S.S. ("Stupid Ship") Hillary is locked on target at bearing 180° from reality... Fire one!

As far as I'm concerned, it should have been illegal for the skank to take up residence in New York...and get elected to be one of their Senators in the same year.

New York voters have to be at least as stupid as those in Massachusetts...

John Kerry has suggested "Genghis Kahn" for the post of commander in the field!

If Kerry and Murtha are our best war heroes, what happened to all of the guys who fought hard and bravely and also remain steadfast in later years? Kerry fails point one and Murtha, point two.

A richly deserved award!
The "choices" we are offered for national offices often scare the heck out of me because 1 of tem is going to win!

Hahahaha! ROFL! Good one.

Kajun,
Another good one! Thanks! (:D)

Camo,
Yeah, you gotta ask... "What were they thinking??"

Radar,
"Genghis Kahn"? Any relation to Madeleine Kahn?

Marge,
I agree. It seems hard to top MA as dumbest voters on the planet.

boberin,
You snuck that one in there while I was typing! But I know what you mean. The choices are not only scary, but depressing.

I'm slow, what can I say

But...Amen to scary choices. That's why my candidate never wins (last winner was Reagan, term 2) cause I always vote for 3rd party, can't brong myself to pull either lever for a so called "party"
